Following on from my zoo outfit, I thought I'd share some more photos from the Black Country Living Museum the other weekend, where we wandered into an apartment that they've decorated entirely in keeping with the 1930s. I was really impressed with their attention to detail and wanted to share my photos with you all! The apartment, whilst decorated in a 1930's style, is housed in a Victorian terrace, and so you will see some details - one of the fire surrounds in the bedroom for example - that reflect that earlier era.
The Dining Room / Parlour
I was surprised at some of the wallpapers. I've put some photos below - the last one here is what I would typically think of for a 1930's bedroom say, the colour palette and design I've seen on dresses and china from the era, but the colours and patterns of the first two feel a bit retro in a 1970's way to me, what do you think?
I think I've mentioned before that we won't be going for a completely authentic 1930's look in our house, we'll do a nod to it here and there, but our style is a bit more eclectic overall. I think seeing these interiors though was great for inspiration!
What do you think about 1930's interiors? Are there bits you like more than others?
