One of the places that's always been high on my UK tourism wish-list is the quirky village of Portmeirion, and this week I finally made it there. I went up to North Wales with my husband for a mini holiday, and the Italian style village of 'The Prisoner' TV series fame was our first stop. I have
hundreds of photos to sift through, so until then I am sharing a handful of photographs from a beautiful early morning stroll along the estuary. We were the only people walking at that time in the morning, and it felt like we were on our own private archipelago. Please suspend your disbelief that I'm wearing shorts in the UK in these photos; we had precisely 1.5 days of blissful warmth.

I have lots of other photographs to share from our trip, but that's it for today. Thank you everyone for your encouraging words on my blog post about my recent sewing adventures, and I will be catching up on social media and reconnecting with you all soon. Back to work for me tomorrow, that's going to be painful!

You're looking very glam casual in these pics - love the whole look. Those sunnies are wonderful, I'm off to check out if they're still on sale. La Redoute is fast becoming one of my favourite shops - they do awesome affordable but really good quality flat pack furniture with a mid century vibe. We've just bought a great desk and matching set of bedside tables I'm seriously happy with! xx
ReplyDeleteI never knew that about La Redoute and furniture! I will have to have a peek at their website. Your buys sound fab x
DeleteGoodness the estuary looks so wonderful and tranquil, I am wishing I was there now! Gorgeous outfit too, love everything, especially those shorts! I am really looking forward to seeing more photos, Portmeirion is somewhere I have longed to visit since I watched reruns of The Prisoner as a child, I bet you had a fabulous time! XX
ReplyDeleteI am conjuring it in my mind as I sit here on my Monday morning commute...
DeleteOh wow those photos are so beautiful that water looks absolutely stunning, what a place to visit! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous photos!

Portmeirion is on my list too, but I haven't made it yet. Your photos are fabulous and now I want to go even more ... xxx
ReplyDeleteOh my! I can barely believe that is in the UK!!! Such a tranquil, gorgeous location. And your looking perfectly casual and chic for your trip!
ReplyDeleteIt seemed like we were abroad, really weird to think it was the UK, let alone Wales!!
DeleteI've never been either, it's been on my list forever!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos!! xxx
This place looks amazing! You got some fabulous shots, I would love to pay this place a visit. Who knew there were Italianate villages on the coast of Wales? I watched The Prisoner (the 60s version) a couple of years ago, it's a fun show.
ReplyDeleteAaaaaah! I love The Prisoner. Now I have SERIOUS envy. You had perfect weather for it, too. You have to share more photos! Did you visit Number 6's house?
ReplyDeleteThat scenery!!! You pick the most beautiful places for your holidays. Seriously, I could stare at that view for hours. I'm pleased that you finally got a chance to wear shorts this summer - I hope there will be some more opportunities :D
ReplyDeleteHow absolutely lovely! Sweeping expanses of water and lush landscapes like that are my idea of a perfect summertime getaway, too. Your outfit is really charming, too. Hopefully "shorts weather" returns again. Our summer got off to a crazy late start, but appears (knock wood) to perhaps finally be underway as this month wraps up, so perhaps sunshine will return for you soon, too.
ReplyDeleteBig hugs,

These photos are beautiful! What a gorgeous location - I believe I went when I was little (as I have family down there) but I don't remember it, we do have photos of the area though :) Your outfit is perfect for the scene too - slightly pin up/retro but better for the warmer weather, I couldn't believe we had weather like that in the UK either!
ReplyDeleteThese photos take my breath away! What a gorgeous place to visit and that is so magical that you and your husband were able to be out and about when no one else was around. Love the outfit too! So gorgeous on you!
