Dress: 'Michelle' maxi, Collectif
Necklace: Vintage, Chronically Vintage on Etsy
Shoes: 'Dollar Craze', Clarks (via ebay)
I've been waiting and waiting for an occasion to wear the dress, ever since I snagged it off Ebay earlier this year. It had sold out quickly when Collectif first brought it out, but a post by Harlow Darling reminded me of its existence and I set about hunting for it again. I'm glad I found it! The necklace is a new purchase all the way from Canada, from Chronically Vintage on Etsy. It seemed like the perfect finishing touch.
When the tourists leave Portmeirion for the evening, it becomes incredibly quiet. It's sort of like being inadvertently locked in a National Trust property for the night. We made the most of it. Drinks in the moonlit gardens, and at the folly overlooking the estuary. All you could hear was the tinkling of water features, and being such a warm night it was lovely to sit out until late. Heavenly.

Such a beautiful dress, love your photos as well! xo
ReplyDeleteYou look so beautiful! The dress is also fantastic with your height - I get a little drowned in mine :P
ReplyDeleteI love that you took this dress on holiday with you to the sea AND you got to wear it in a fabulous Art Deco hotel! This would have been just the dress to swan around drinking gin cocktails in - I have done the very same in mine, only with tropical cocktails instead.
Lovely flutter sleeves - they look so summery. It sounds as though Portmeirion is idyllic after dark.
ReplyDeleteWhat stunning photos! It looks like a movie set.
ReplyDeleteThe necklace is perfect.

Fabulous dress and I'm sure you got it at a bargain price knowing you! It really suits your height, I know it would look ridiculous on me. Portmerion looks gorgeous at night, and I loved your line "It's sort of like being inadvertently locked in a National Trust property for the night.", that would be an absolute dream for me! xx
ReplyDeleteYour dress is gorgeous as is the setting. Loving the Portmeirion by night photos and the ones of you in front of that mirror. Porcelina twins ;-) xxx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful dress that looks stunning on you - oh, to have your statuesque height! We always want what we can't have... For this kind of dress though, it's pretty fabulous. I can't really carry off big shoulders like that either, they more carry me off to be honest, but so lovely on you xx
ReplyDeleteThis dress just suits you down to a T, and a gorgeous setting for shoiwing it off too!
ReplyDeleteThe dress is very beautiful, and i love these photos

Portmerion looks wonderful after dark, very Italian! The sleeves on your dress are lovely. x
ReplyDeleteSuch a glorious backdrop to showcase an elegant dress! It is unusual to find somewhere with such decadent sophistication these days. Always a pleasure to find a stunning location.
ReplyDeleteYou look so dreamy in this dress! What a beautiful place to show it off too, you have me excited to wear my one again in summer x
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous ensemble. It's dripping with elegance and just the best air of mysterious allure (as deco looks in general excelled at, IMO) too boot.
ReplyDeleteI'm honoured that you partnered one your recent Chronically Vintage acquisitions with it, sweet Porcelina. Thank you so immensely much for doing so and for linking to my shop here. I truly appreciate it. That necklace is the bee's knees and then some on you.
Huge hugs (also from Canada :)),
♥ Jessica
