Post Holiday Update

A quick roundup for you today of what I've been up to, along with a few links to articles and such that you may find of interest.

1) My Spanish Holiday
If you follow me on Instagram then you'll have noticed that my photos were looking far more sunny than usual - I've been on holiday to Spain!  My husband and I went back to Nerja, a place we love dearly.  I'll be posting about my holiday outfits (I know it's always good to have a nosey at other people's holiday packing, click here to see my post from the last holiday) and sharing some jealousy-inducing photos of the beautiful scenery in wonderful AndalucĂa.  Check back here on Sunday to see the first of my posts about my holiday wardrobe.

2) My First Wedding Anniversary
My husband and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary while we were away.  Time has flown since our vintage inspired wedding in Wales last September.  I was looking at the photographs again recently, as I had some photo books printed as gifts for relatives, and the one below is one of my favourite photos from the day.  Wonderful memories!  One of my bridesmaids is going to be a bride herself in a few months' time, so I will be referring her to my post on how to keep the budget under control.

3) Five Style Tips I've Stolen from Zella Maybe
I have written a guest post for the style blog Zella Maybe where I describe how I recreated five of Jessica's looks (shamelessly copy her great ideas in other words!).  Click here to read my article and see the pictures for all five looks.  Jessica really does have such a unique and fabulously creative sense of style, so if you're in need of an injection of inspiration and haven't come across her blog, I recommend you add it to your reading list.

4) The No-Regrets Guide to Donating Clothes to Charity
If you're considering a clothes clear out then you'll find this article by CiCi Marie for Oxfam very useful to reference.  The six steps that are outlined have all been road-tested by CiCi herself as she's just moved house and had a major declutter.  I particularly like her idea of a 'maybe' bag and I've recently tried that out myself - a red skirt I have put in and out of the donation bag on several occasions recently got a reprieve for my summer holiday.  I'm glad it was in the 'maybe' pile and I didn't get rid of it straight away.  Other items go straight in 'out', like the below shoes which were all too uncomfortable!  I wish those Bronx leather ones had been wearable, I loved the style and they weren't cheap.  Someone else is hopefully wearing them now and not in pain!

There you go, a little post to keep you going until I can get my holiday photos sorted!  I hope you're all having a good start to the month.

  1. Welcome back! Thank you for bringing the sun with you. Hope you had a blast :) and oh, you saw that post did you - there was me trying to sneak it under the radar so I could use it again when I get stuck for content ;) serves me right for being lazy! Thanks for sharing, it's for a good cause! xx

  2. I have a maybe pile rather than bag! I also found working from the back of my wardrobe to the front an interesting experiment, the majority of the the stuff that had ended up at the back went. There is that thing though of having clothes in different sizes. I constantly battle with my weight so have fat and not so fat clothes which may not get worn one year to the next depending on my size!

Looking forward to those holiday outfits :)

  3. Welcome back! I loved seeing your photos from Nerja - more Spain is never a bad thing - though I hadn't realised it was your anniversary. A year already!

I never regret donating clothes to charity - I've found so many bargains in chazzas myself, I look on it as a way to provide stuff for another bargain hunter.

  4. Blimey, time flies! I can't believe it's been a whole year. Glad you spent your anniversary in the place you both love.
We dropped off two bin bags of vintage clothes & paperback books to the chazza this morning (and came back with three more!) Chazzing karma! xxx

  7. Hugely happy anniversary wishes to you both! It feels like just yesteryear that you were sharing about tying the knot. And speaking of time whizzing past, Tony and I will be celebrating 12, count 'em, 12, years together next month. It really does go by in the blink of an eye!

Three cheers on returning to Spain. That's awesome!

    xoxo ♥ Jessica
