Right, that's my public service announcement done, on with the outfit. The photographs in this post were take on a beautiful Autumn morning. We were down in Cardiff for Lou Lou's Vintage Fair, and stopped in the local park to look at the trees. Some are in full Autumnal glory, others still have a week or two until they peak.

Jacket: M&S, charity shop

Dress: Mpcini, charity shop

Seamed tights: What Katie Did
Yes, that's the same jacket as last week! I have been wearing it every day. It's actually turned slightly milder though, and the fur collar gets a little warm when walking around. Ah well, the cold will appear soon enough I'm sure. We enjoyed browsing the fair. I came away with a Scully Western shirt for £12, and that sweet little 1950s' hat I'm wearing in these photos for £12. I'm not even sure the hat suits me, but I thought it was worth a try as I don't have many original 1950's hats in my collection. It's bit of an era mish-mash, this outfit. The hat is '50s, the dress more '40s, the jacket more '60s, and the bag '80s. I just can't stick to one decade, it feels a little too prescribed sometimes, unless you're going to an era-themed event when I'll pull out all the stops and try to recreate the hair and makeup too.
Until next time!
Poor Jessica and Tony. It is so heartening how everyone is rallying around and done their bit. Jessica is such a kind hearted person, I know she'd do the same for all of us.
ReplyDeleteYou know how much I love a mish mash of eras in an outfit. You look fabulous. If I didn't know you already I'd definitely tell you how good you look if I saw you at a fair. That hat really suits you and that M&S jacket has earnt its money already. I love Crocket & Jones footwear, I've sold some fabulous pairs in the past - only because I've never found any in my size. xxx
Hurray for mixing the eras together! Your outfit is fabulous: the jacket proves to be very versatile, looking fab with both jeans and a dress, and I am so in love with the little hat. I do think it suits you, and it is matching the colour of the leaves. xxx
ReplyDeleteI feel so bad for Jessica right now. I was so happy to see how many people came together to help them get back on their feet, though - it might be a long road back to normal, as you said, but but she's definitely someone who deserves all the help she an get.
ReplyDeleteLove the outfit! Despite the "mish mash" of eras I think everything works together really nicely. I think the hat suits you beautifully, and it works perfectly with the gorgeous fall foliage.
That hat is super cute! I feel so sorry for Jessica, tears came in my eyes when I heard what had happened :/ It is so magnificent how many people have joined to help! <3
ReplyDeleteI was shocked and appalled when I first heard too. It's so good to see so much love and support for these beautiful people.
ReplyDeleteYour outfit is beautiful and very Autumny :)
What a stunning location for photos, love that dress, the green looks great on you! Also those brown shoes look wonderful with the dress and jacket! xo
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely shoes! I love wearing brogues with vintage or retro dresses, and these look perfect with your charming green dress.
ReplyDeleteWho care about a mish mash when it looks this good ;) I think I'm mashing all the time without even really thinking about it - part of the joy of being in modern times! I love that you found the perfect tree to compliment your outfit xx
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is just perfect on you - the colours, the shape, everything. I adore those shoes with the dress too. And of course your hat!
ReplyDeleteI really like the hat on you. And nice brooch placement there on the dress!
ReplyDeleteEra mashups can be fun.
I absolutely love everything about this outfit! So gorgeous Porcelina! That hat looks amazing on you and that jacket is so perfect with that dress. And those shoes! Just <3 everything! :D
ReplyDeleteThose shoes are amazing! And I wholeheartedly support era mashing when it looks this good! :)

I love that you have combined different decades to create a harmonious outfit! I'm getting a distinctive 40s city girl, out for a stroll in the country vibe.
