It's Nearly Christmas!

Yesterday was my last day in work, and so today I'm beginning a lovely long (and much deserved!) break of just over two weeks.  The last few weeks have been manic, as I'm sure they have been for many of you too.  I had a PhD report to submit, an article to write for In Retrospect magazine, on top of the day job, Christmas shopping, and trying to squeeze in a bit of sewing.  I've been to three Christmas parties and a Christmas concert, as well as hosting a lunch and a Christmas party.  There have been some fabulous, yet undocumented outfits, which means I'll have to wear them again over the holidays and take lots of photographs to share with you.  In the meantime, these snaps from Instagram will have to do.

My plans for Christmas itself aren't too hectic.  We have a couple of days out over the weekend to see friends and family, but Christmas Day will be a quiet, relaxing affair with just my husband and I.  We'll fire up the woodburning stove, make a few cocktails, and dress up to the nines.

Wishing you all a lovely Christmas!

  2. Heh, you can't document everything - that would get in the way of living your life. Though I do like seeing your outfits, they're always very elegant.

I had to dip out of the next issue of IR; I simply have too many other things going on this month. December does seem to be a tremendously hectic time, doesn't it? Such a shame some of the activity can't be transferred to January as that month is a bit of a dull let-down.

    Have a fab Christmas!

  3. Live now, blog later! at least you've given those outfits a trial run and know they're winners. I look forward to seeing them when you've got time to show us.
    Have a fabulous Xmas. xxx

  9. I had the same problem with documenting outfits back when I had a job. I wore something nice to work, but didn't have time photograph them (our apartment is too small and dark for even mirror selfies). On my days off I recreated some of my best outfits for photos, but there are many that still haven't made it to my blog. I have been prioritizing taking photos of new clothes so it probably seems like I don't wear my older pieces anymore, but I wear them just as often as the new ones. I just have so many new clothes that haven't been featured in my blog yet that it'll take some time until I get back to recreating outfits consisting of older pieces of clothing.

I hope you had a lovely Christmas, and while I'm at it, wish you a Happy New year as well! x
