It was the most glorious day of the year so far, we were spoilt with a cloudless blue sky and warm temperatures (although rather amusingly we did pass a Spanish family in boots and coats, it must be quite a bit warmer in continental Europe!). After a lovely day out, we headed home for some prosecco and a good dinner.
Thank you so much to everyone who wished me a happy birthday on social media - it was one of the best yet. You might have noticed that this blog post is a little tardy, compared to my usual schedule. I must confess that as my husband's birthday is only 6 days before mine, our celebrations tend to stretch out over a week or more. I have many vintage adventures to report in the coming weeks, including a visit to an Art Deco villa by the sea... stay tuned!

Belated Happy Birthday! Glad you had a great day. Your dress and these photos are divine. I haven't seen many bluebells this year, and time is running out... Karen xx
ReplyDeleteThank you Karen! (I think I called you Kate by accident in my last reply to a comment, sorry about that!!)
DeleteHappy Birthday again! I'm glad that the weather was wonderful, these photos are gorgeous and I love the outfit!!! xxx
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! Glad you had such a great day out at Dinefwr, which I've heard of but never visited. Bluebell woods are a magical thing, and your outfit matches sets it off perfectly. I love your "celebratory" brooch! xxx
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! The bluebell wood looks beautiful. We always get some in our garden, but I love a full wooodland!
ReplyDeleteHappy belated birthday!
ReplyDeleteThis spot looks heavenly.
Your choice of outfit is spot on. That brooch is just adorable!
Your photos are magazine worthy.

This is the perfect birthday outfit and photos to match - of course it is only fitting that as a blogger you get a perfect location and a great set of photos for your birthday, right? You look so wonderful and you're absolutely right, there is on way it would have been okay for you not to take photos of these gorgeous blue bells and yourself among them looking so beautiful. This is a setting worthy of a fairytale and you yourself look like you could be a character in a tale about a maiden in a gingham dress and boater hat that comes upon a party of wood sprites that invite her to drink delicious gin cocktails :P ;) Happy Birthday!!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to you! xo
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos in the woods and I love that cute blue gingham dress on you! :)
Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteStunning and snap! I'm featuring an outfit in the Bluebell woods tomorrow! Your dress is lovely, do like a little gingham atm! Jacqui

Aaah, that looks lovely. A super birthday for a super lady. (Must confess, I thought you were about 32 at most... whatever you've got, you should bottle it!)
ReplyDeleteLook more closely, plenty of wrinkles and grey hairs to be found! ;)
DeleteI'm a firm believer in spreading birthdays out! Glad to hear you had such a lovely day the bluebells look gorgeous as do you among them.

Such pretty pictures and of course you look gorgeous in them! I refuse to work on my birthday and always do something fun too. I mean what else are birthdays for? :) Glad you had a wonderful day xx
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you take it easy for your birthday too! Much more fun than being stuck in an office x
DeleteA pretty dress in amongst the lovely bluebells! What could be better!!
ReplyDeleteThis day sounds glorious (Happy Belated Birthday also!), your outfit is super great (gingham is the best), your hair looks extra lovely, and those bluebells are amazing! I have never seen bluebells and I can't imagine how gorgeous these look in person. Sounds like the perfect day!
ReplyDeleteThey smelled divine too, and the birdsong was incredible - what a place! X
DeleteI'm so late, but happy birthday! You look gorgeous, and I'm seriously just in LOVE with this little bluebell filled meadow. That, and the gingham dress and the straw hat, are just dreamy.
ReplyDeleteThank you lovely! That's ok, you're in a different time zone ;)
DeleteA very belated happy birthday to you Porcelina!
ReplyDeleteYou look absolutely lovely in this outfit- and this looks like such a gorgeous place to visit too! Did you know that there would be bluebells and coordinated specifically to match your surroundings, or was it a happy coincidence? :)
Ha, it was a coincidence, a really serendipitious one!! X
DeleteHappy belated birthday. It sounds like a super day out. That brooch is very cute!
