I'm afraid I don't have any photos of me dancing on the Welsh hilltops though. We decided it was high time to go blackberry picking, so I'm in a shady lane instead. Some of the more well-trodden routes around where we live have been picked bare, but on a recent rainy day walk I discovered a little lane where the bushes were bursting with berries. Armed with tupperwares, we headed back there to retrieve them. My fingers were purple by the end, and a little scratched from the brambles, but we found more than enough berries to put in some muffins, as well as having some to put in the freezer.

This photo was taken on the second day of my summer break from work (a whopping two and a half weeks in total!!), but doesn't it look Autumnal? The red colours are starting to come through on some of the leaves. We're having a week in Spain, so I expect by the time we return, we'll really notice the shift in seasons.
Don't forget that I'm hosting a giveaway of some Chambers leathercare products, you have until 13th September to enter.

Oh we have a lot of those blue berries in our garden. Delicious! And I was cycling today to the city and noticed there were a lot of yellow leafs already. I hate that. Enjoy your holiday!
ReplyDeleteThat's a good haul of blackberries. And I love your blouse - I've never heard of Promod, so I'll check them out.
ReplyDeleteWhat a compliment! Another one of your amazing finds - and a great dress shape on you :) Hope Spain is wonderful! xx
ReplyDeleteI was thinking grown up Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz, not Julie Andrews in The Sound of Music but what do I know? :) I hope you have a lovely time in Spain and that you enjoy your relaxing break xx
ReplyDeleteI love the pretty little details of this blouse, it almost looks late Edwardian or early 1920s. Blackberry picking sounds so fun! The lane here is very enchanting, the moss on the stones and the lush greenery are the perfect outfit photo backdrop, I'm jealous of the location!
ReplyDeleteA compliment indeed !!! Lovely jumper dress.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun to go blackberry picking. You look great in that outfit. You do Julie Andrews proud.

Blackberries are the toughest to pick! You did very well.
ReplyDeleteThe outfit is super cute and perfect for berry picking.
Enjoy your vacation!

You look so sweet in your pinafore and blouse!
ReplyDeleteAren't there an abundance of blackberries this year? Our hedges are groaning under the weight of them. One of my neighbours caught me up a stepladder gathering them and asked why I was bothering, they were only £1 a punnet in Tesco. Heathen! xxx
What a supercute outfit! I love the pinafore and what I can see of the pretty lacework of the blouse. In spite of blackberries being really early here this year, there are still bushes which haven't t yet been picked bare, even quite near popular paths, which makes me think they're a second crop ... Enjoy your Summer break and especially your week in Spain! xxx
ReplyDeleteThis is what I get for not checking blogs for so long - commenting on later posts that I hope you picked some blackberries, then seeing that of course you did in your last post. Oops.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, you do look super cute! I definitely see the Sound of Music comparison. Such a sweet, fresh look, especially with the pretty ponytail!
I love that pinafore look! Perfect for a warm day out in the countryside.
ReplyDeleteI totally get The Sound of Music vibes, you look like you could easily burst into song any moment! A song about blackberries perhaps? Autumn came early in Russia this year, black berries came out a few weeks ago and I've been really enjoying picking them too. They are definitely the prickliest of berries - I got my fair share of scratches as well! Your idea of making muffins with them is brilliant - I wish I hadn't eaten mine right away :P
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit!!!! Very Sound of Music, indeed! That white blouse with embroidery is so pretty.
ReplyDeleteAlso, long sleeves are a good idea where blackberries are concerned. We don't have blackberries around here, but I picked some once when I was visiting Vancouver Island and was thoroughly scratched! :(
Omg I love this outfit, very Sound of Music and super gorgeous! They look like some delicious berries, yum! x
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is darling, and yes, like he said, very Sound of Music. I especially love the embroidery detail on the blouse!
